Michelle Graham, Director of Human Resources, City of Pearland
Michelle is a 17 year veteran of the City of Pearland. She began her career at the City as a Recreation Center Supervisor in January of 2000 and held a variety of positions within the department before being promoted to Director of the Parks and Recreation Department in April 2009. In July 2015, Michelle was asked to fill the interim vacancy for the Human Resources Director and then in November of 2015 officially transitioned to that role.
Michelle earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Sam Houston State University in 1995 and in 2000, she received a Master’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Southern Connecticut University in New Haven, Connecticut.
Michelle has served as the Vice Chair for the Greater Gulf Coast Parks & Recreation Directors Association; as a board member for CAP of Pearland, a local non-profit whose mission is to improve the quality of life for indigent and less fortunate individuals of the Greater Pearland Area and currently serves as the President of the Forever Parks Foundation of Pearland which she initiated during her tenure as the Parks & Recreation Director and their missions is to be enthusiastic advocates for the City’s Parks & Recreation Department – committed to encouraging and mobilizing philanthropic support from across the community and beyond.
Michelle is proud of the various departmental and individual awards over the years but her 2nd happiest day was when she married her best friend, Shelby in April of 2014 and her happiest day was December 2008 when she became the proud mom of a very sweet, handsome, independent and determined 8 year old red head, Matthew.
