Norma Martinez, Risk Manager, City of Sugar Land

Norma Martinez is the Risk Manager for the City of Sugar Land and has been employed with the City since July 2000.  She oversees the Insurance Program for Workers’ Comp, Property and Liability, Loss Prevention and Safety.  Norma also has a major role in the City’s Wellness Program.   Norma also serves on the board for Texas PRIMA, the state chapter of the National Public Risk Management Association and currently serves on the executive board as the Secretary.  In 2014 Norma was awarded risk manager of year from Texas PRIMA and in 2016 the City’s Safety Program was awarded the Risk Management Achievement Award.  Norma is currently pursuing the ARM (Associate in Risk Management) designation through the AICPCU.  She lives with her husband and 2 kids in Missouri City.
