Tom Muir, City Manager, City of Azle

Tom Muir has over 26 years of municipal government experience.  Since January 2016, he has been the City Manager of the City of Azle.  He was City Manager of the City of Haltom City for 12 years and prior to that, he served Haltom City as Assistant City Manager for a year and a half.  He began his municipal career in Killeen where he served in several positions during his 11-year tenure.

Tom holds a B.S. in Management from Oral Roberts University.  He is a member of the International City/County Management Association, the Texas City Managers Association, the North Texas City Managers Association, Northeast Leadership Forum, Northeast Lions Club (President – 2006-07) and Azle Rotary Club.

He has served on the Board of Directors of the Northeast Transportation Service Urban Transit District from 2004 to 2015, of which he was Chairman from 2010 to 2015.

Tom and his wife, Cathy, have been married almost 35 years and have two adult children.
